Sometimes Broderick will do (or not do) some things around the house that irk me a little; like he’ll leave towels aall over the bathroom, or put dishes back on the wrong shelves, or not wipe down all of the countertops/table etc after he’s washed the dishes, or “wash” the dishes which i then have to go back and clean again (am i right ladies?! :D) That sort of thing, nothing huge; i don’t usually even say anything to him about it, since i’m just grateful that i live with someone who actually does any housework (Not to mention the fact that i’m no house-cleaning goddess myself and i’m sure there’s -plenty- of things i do that bother him too). Sometimes if I really want to get the message across though, i will do the same thing he has done, in a ‘let’s see if you like it’ sort of way. And normally he either doesn’t say anything or just doesn’t notice, and so the issue is forgotten. But yesterday, we had been eating dinner in front of the TV and I got up when we were done and started picking up all the plates, and he said “don’t forget to clear off your plate.”

First of all, of course i was going to clear off my plate :S I asked him why he thought i wouldn’t. He said i never do; that i always leave food on my plates and then put them by the sink, and that it’s gross. Definitely used the word ‘always’. Now maybe once in very long while i do that, especially after i’ve worked one of my insane 16 hour days in Boston (i tend to get reeally lazy for a day or two after one of those days; they really wipe me out), because i think somewhere in the back of my mind i assume that one of us will actually wash all the dishes shortly after dinner anyway (never happens) but to say ‘always’?! On top of the fact that he is a known (and i would argue much worse) leave-dirty-plates-at-the-table offender?! Augh! Just this morning as i was washing the dishes, i had to deal with a bowl of nasty cereal+milk remnants that he had left in the sink (which i’m pretty sure had been sitting there for more than a day [yeah i hadn’t washed the dishes in a while :( my bad] )! And -he’s- gonna call -me- on that? Oh-ho no.

Well Mr Lang, you’re on notice! I’m gonna start calling you out (not on tumblr, i think i’m done with tumblr after this) on all your little housework blunders (in a ‘Let’s see how you like it’ kind of way!)! Aha! :D Until you get the idea that neither of us is perfect when it comes to keeping house (and that that is really okay), it’s on! And i challenge you to do the same- we’ll see who gets more marks against their name!
